WCN Partners
Heroes of Wildlife Conservation

Wildlife Conservation Network's "Partners" are independent and innovative field-based conservationists who are creating and implementing new strategies for saving endangered wildlife and habitats. These conservationists gain Partner status through a highly competitive application process. WCN accepts one or two new Partners each year and supports them with funding, marketing expertise, assistance in donor development, technology support and access to a dynamic network of people and resources. Greg Rasmussen, Painted Dog Conservation

Conservation requires both a local and global commitment, and WCN works to engage individuals and communities to create a network of resources for sustainable solutions. WCN identifies conservationists who are significantly involved with local communities, working together to find new strategies for saving wildlife and the wild places that they share. Partner conservationists live and work in the field, independent of larger organizational support and funding. Their courage and spirit of innovation is what sets them apart and makes them so successful.

Each October, WCN hosts the Wildlife Conservation Expo - a gathering of these extraordinary conservation Partners, along with scientists, local and international conservation organizations and over a thousand conservation supporters. Each Partner gives a presentation on their work, meets with donors and the public, and attends workshops on marketing, donor development, technology and more.
